After three years at The University of Plymouth and over six year's experience in Events Organising, Web Design and Marketing, I am now a very proud (and employed) graduate, doing a job I love. Talking.
Of course, my job is a little more complicated than that - but being able to communicate is crucial... So talking is a big part of it; whether it's on paper, online or face to face with clients. I am responsible for how our clients see, read and use the website, as well as being the person who gets to know our clients that little bit better. I help decide what we should work on next, whether that's making new templates or improving existing ones and work out how best to tell people about it. I also ensure that every bit of communication, from our templates to our website, from our welcome packs to our business cards, from the articles you read in the local papers to our email newsletters, are all consistent - and put the 'star' in Newstar Design. To do this, I work closely with the Sales Manager (the office entertainer), as well as the Web Designer (the one with the big shiny Mac).
When I clock out at 5 (or sometimes 4) on a Friday afternoon, I often start my weekend off in style; Take That, a pint of Rattlers cider and a trip to Waitrose to seek out what's new on the Delicatessen. Perhaps 'style' isn't the right word.
